In 2019, for the second year in a row, The Village is once again partner of the « Festival Of Lights » in Lyon. This year we are happy to sponsor the work of Sébastien Lefèvre. Close to place Bellecour, in Lyon city center, you will discover « Pavillon », a conical work with illuminated cords, which seems to float in the air like weightless over the place Antonin Poncet. « Eolights » will complete this work on the center of The Village and make youngs and olders ones dreams.
Three Eolights look down upon the main street of The Village shopping center. Wind turbines have been subverted into dynamic light features – a new form of street furniture with a fun and festive feel. An RGB LED system mixes at the three primary colours, lighting up the blades in an infinite palette of hues. Depending on the intensity of the colours, the visitor can admire kaleidoscopic windmills or giant flowers, escappes from a childish dream. The light reflects off the surronding buildings rippling, swirling and stobing hypnotically. The may not generate any actual power, but they are heralding the arrival of the devices that will be omnipresent in tomorrow’s urban landscape.
“Eolights” will be installed in The Village until January 4th, 2020
